Wang Kuo-wei:
When a lterary form has been current for a long time an dused by many, it naturally becomes hackneyed. AN independent-minded writer, finding it hard to say anything original in it, will turn away an devolve a new for to set himself free.  This is teh reason why each literary form flourishes for a time and finally declines.
